Millennium Park Dance Down as part of YAS! Fest

  • Millennium Park 201 East Randolph Street Chicago, IL, 60601 United States (map)

Open the Circle presents Chicago-style “dance downs” in three parks across the city. Dance downs showcase black youth dance groups from across the city. Today's dance groups are famous for their performances at the Bud Billiken Parade, and at other parades across the city and beyond. Several groups travel nationally to perform, winning awards and recognition from television programs like Bring It!, while instilling community, leadership and self-confidence in Chicago youth.

This dance down is presented by Open the Circle and The Era Footwork Crew and features the following groups: The Era Footwork Crew , Bringing Out Talent, Empiire Dance Company (Reggae Production), MBM, Silent Threat, Insanity, and 2 Official Boyz.

Music is provided by "the youngest in charge" DJ Corey, and his father DJ Clent, godfather of footwork music and juke in Chicago.

Exact timing and stage to be confirmed. Stay tuned!
