This event is a Chicago-style dance down, featuring youth dance troupes Tiny Diamonds, Dynasty of the Empiire, Geek Skquad, Bringing Out Talent, Astronaut Flee, MBM Dance Company, with music by DJ Corey and DJ Clent, hosted by dance pioneer and educator Darnell Payne, alongside The Era Footwork Crew.

The Empire and Bringing Out Talent are two of the most important youth groups in the city, garnering awards in dance competitions across the Chicago and across the country. Both groups have been featured several times on television, including in the hit show Bring It!. The Empire is led by Latisha Waters and Bringing Out Talent is led by Skhkunna Stewart. Music is provided by the father/son duo, DJ Clent and DJ Corey. DJ Clent got his start in the early days of 90s house music, pioneering the sounds of what came to be known as footwork. DJ Corey, Clent's son, is known as "the youngest DJ in charge."

This dance down is organized in partnership with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Chicago Park Districts as part of 2019 Summerdance.
